Joseph's Unique Fatherhood
It goes without saying that Joseph's fatherhood is unique. Not only is Joseph father to the Son of God, with a virginal fatherhood that none else experienced, but Joseph also is father to us, the Mystical Body of Christ, the Church. He shares a fatherhood to Jesus and us with Our Heavenly Father. Indeed, the only fatherhood Our Heavenly Father did not share with Joseph is His Fatherhood to Mary and Joseph.
Earthly fathers share in the fatherhood of the Heavenly Father, but only for a few of God's Children. The Pope, or Holy Father, shares in God's fatherhood during his pontificate. But Joseph's fatherhood continues in Heaven. In fact, we can say that it is perfected in Heaven, since he can see with perfect sight as Our Heavenly Father would allow Joseph in order for Joseph to fulfill his ongoing fatherhood. And this fatherhood is and always has been subordinate to Our Heavenly Father's fatherhood. As we know, all fatherhood comes from God the Father.
And so, all earthly fathers should call upon Joseph's fatherhood in order that their fatherhood might be properly subordinate to Our Heavenly Father's fatherhood. When fathers do so, fathers will bring honor to the Heavenly Father and in one manner, hallow the Father's name. After all, all fatherhood should honor Our Heavenly Father. And that is why Joseph is key. He lived out, and continues to, a fatherhood in perfect subordination to Our Heavenly Father's Fatherhood and so hallows the Father's name in this way better than any other father has or will.
Joseph, bless all fathers, especially those that have not lived their fatherhood in subordination to the Heavenly Father yet. For those with such fathers, be a strong father to them. Lead all fathers in their fatherhood to mirror your fatherhood and thus hallow Our Heavenly Father's name. Amen.
